Landscape – Love it or hate it, it’s coming

I remember when I was back in school, I decided that I would present one of my assignments in a landscape format with the headers running down the side rather than the traditional portrait layout and I remember how much I loved the look of that project.

Fast forward 22 years and here I am again designing my food diaries in landscape. The market is dominated by portrait versions and they are clearly a winner with people, but I wanted to create something a little different.

Landscape formatted documents just somehow feels nicer to write on, it’s that larger expanse of paper to rest your hand on and I personally love the look of ring bound landscape documents....although I know there will be a large number of people that really don’t like the format and in fact there will probably be quite a few that hate, it but I love it and that’s probably the biggest lesson I have learnt with starting my own business - You have to love your product to be passionate about it and hand on heart, I love it (and yes I am often caught just stroking the pages of the diary).

In time we will convert our food diaries to portrait and also amend them to allow us to produce them as inserts but currently we are putting all our efforts into producing the best quality, slightly quirky, beautiful food diaries that we can.
